I have been doing a few pages lately, and this is the latest one. It was experimental! I got the idea from this site http://open.salon.com/blog/lyndalae/2011/04/22/earth_day_stamping
I quite enjoyed myself What do you think of the idea? I may add some more writing on the R hand page later.

The Velveteen Rabbit

Here is a double page spread I have just done(well....in the past week or so!).
It started off on the left hand page following a technique shown by Leslie Herger aka Comfortable Shoes, where you use gesso, and coloured "Sharpie" Pens and journal your heart out, turning the page each time you repeat the journaling, so you build up layers. you then cover the final layer with paints. So far so good! The whole thing just took off under its own steam and turned into the "Velveteen Rabbit" a story that I have always loved
So here is the "finished product" .... would appreciate it if you give me your honest opinion.... I'm still learning.

The page above I did for a swap I joined on a well known swap site Sadly I am not in the swap any longer due to a rule I consider to be Draconian, so this journal which was meant to be made of swapped pages will never be finished. The photo is a little dark.... I might lighten it up and replace this copy.
These are the next 2 pages in my little journal. I am not 100% happy with it and may yet fiddle with it a bit more! I don't have a "style" yet, so am just having fun experimenting

Messed up!

Well, I went to put "Here Goes" on the Linky, but made a mess up and uploaded twice, one of which it just a part of the bottom of my page, I'll learn!
I have another 2 pages almost finished and will upload them in the next group.
It is good fun

I have been reading and watching videos on Art Journals for well over 12 months, and have finally decided to take the plunge!
I typical fashion I am diving in wholeheartedly and have 2 journals on the go. The first being based on Teesha Moore's 8x10 Amazing 16 Page Journal (I even tracked down the Fabriano Paper to make it with.... not easy from here!) See under "Techniques" here http://teeshamoore.com/
The second is a mini one, made in a A6 sized Visual Art Diary Book given to me by my daughter, and I am attempting to Art Journal every day .... see Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's blog...
